Unfortunately this confirms that the graphics setup is muxless and unless the proprietary ATI drivers do some magic we have no chance in getting it to work before an xserver redesign.
The bios structure published shows that muxless is the only option for that setting and I doubt you can switch to mux setup without some hardware support for it.
