Re: System freeze using sony-laptop-zseries-0.9np8pre3

Well I fixed it by installing nvidia-current, breaking my system completely then uninstalling nvidia-current.
No idea what happened there.

Now I would like to get nvidia working but this has always ended in a mess. What's the agreed working method for this now?

FWIW, I just boot the system with sony-laptop module blacklisted, and
once loaded, I do "modprobe sony-laptop". Since I mostly just suspend
it, that is a usable workaround for me, but it might not be for you.
That is strange, as it should not change much. What about if all of
you guys give some *essential* details??? Like:
- kernel version
- sony-laptop-zseries version
- dmesg output with hand, if posible without hang

Pure description "It hangs" is as useful as nothing.

Best wishes

The sound of a single-engine aircraft flying by, heard whilst lying in
