I just want to say something about this problem.
I come from an old Sony SZ330P which had just that problem: the stamina/speed
manual switch.
You are right. Actually if you set stamina, the nvidia card is hidden
and if you set
speed the intel one is not visible.
This problem has been solved for the X server by an initscript that
checks just that.
If the video card is nvidia, it loads the Xorg.conf for the nvidia
card. If the intel card
is detected, it loads the related Xorg.conf file.
I guess the problem above wouldn't be the only one that stops you on
going on for
the development, but there are many other graphic-related problems that come.

But now, my Z2 has got only one graphic card, so I got things simplified in this
case.
