Message #02963
ubuntu 13.04 and vaio z VGNZ790
Hello!
I own an aready old VGNZ790DHB, bios R4040M3.
After update to Ubuntu 13.04 I have following issues:
* SD card doesn't work (I can see the device in "$lspci")
* wifi crashes after reboots: network manager shows "Device is not ready",
wifi is absent in "$rfkill list". I can get back to the normal behaviour
only after several reboots. (the same problem was since 12.04)
* brightness Fn-key don't work
Could the source of problems be that
"$lsmod |grep sony" doesn't have "sony-laptop"?
If I try to add the module:
$sudo modprobe sony-laptop
$ERROR: could not insert 'sony_laptop': Invalid argument
although the module "sony-laptop.ko" is in /lib/modules/3.8.0-17-generic
The janitor script could not help to solve issues unlike in previous
versions of Ubuntu.
Is it worth to try another distribution like Suse instead of solving these
problems?
all the best,
Andrey Sheyko
