På ltsp-mødet til aften blev der spurgt om sikkerhed i nfs4. Hvad
specifikt sikkerhed angår, kan følgende læses i draftet:

* Strong security with negotiation built into the protocol.

This will include public authentication, cross organisation
authentication. Such examples are Certificate
Authentication/RSA (or new elliptic algorithms), Secure Remote
Password (which perfect for many NC clients and US export
regulations http://srp.stanford.edu/srp/) and finally an
organisation public key server. Security is of up most
importance, the system administrators and security experts
must truss the protocol. This new NFS version uses a new port
so that previous non-secure version can be blocked by
firewalls.
