Agreed.

May I suggest that, in this case, there is reason not to resurrect/merge
the overwritten history.
The deleted infomation was a result of a number of bad calls regarding
merge flow across the branches. I really wished I hadn't propagated the
changes into the lp:~svn branches in the first place...
