I think a checkbox would be smoothest -- have it default to false (for
safety, as you point out), but remember the setting (so that if I
explicitly take responsibility for my typos once, the next time I create
a repository it doesn't get in my way).

Bug description:
  Adding /home/shish/syncany as a repository, syncany complained that
  the directory didn't exist -- since it was entered as part of the
  "create a repository" process, I would expect it to be created
