Re: light or dark?

Hi,

My impression is that the black background is being increasingly used only
on the settings screens. Any of the major apps, especially those that have a
heavy textual aspect, such as the Gmail app, seem to be going the light
background route.

However, I need to point out before this is released, that the change also
introduced a new setting which is currently not working. It was to sort the
notes list either by date modified or alphabetically. It defaults to date.
The setting either needs to be fixed, or taken out completely so that the
user doesn't have the option to change it.

I couldn't get the list view to redraw once the setting is changed, but if
someone knows how to do this, please tell (or do)!

Hi,

Recently in the merge proposal Benoit, Rodja and I have been working on[1],
a color change came up.

In this branch (sync-ui), the default look was changed to a lighter theme
(black on white instead of grey on black).

My original goal with the colors was to look as native as possible. Rodja is
saying that new apps looks lighter now:

All newer Google Apps like the Gallery, Android Market, Clock, Google Talk,

So, to those you played with that branch more than me: should we stick with
black on white or we revert this for 0.4? The intention here is to look
native.

I would dislike going light and then getting bad feedback and reverting to
dark in a subsequent release so this is why I'm asking here. Please, no
discussion of advanced options to provide themes unless you are willing to
do the code for it.

Cheers!
