ToriOS versions
Hi everyone,
This is a quick thinking loudly email :)
I'm too weak and lazy at the moment to start a blueprint for that. I
guess an email is better (KISS).
This is what I have in mind.
ToriOS version 0.5 = ToriOS Beta.
Beta - as discussed so many times before - will not be for testing/QA
but for users to use daily.
ToriOS version 1.0 = ToriOS first stable release.
ToriOS version 1.5 = maybe a version in 3-6 months which is mainly
improvements on ToriOS 1.0 based on the feedback from our users. No
major/huge changes but more as improvements/enhancements.
ToriOS version 2.0 = new major and different version with new features, etc.
Above are the 'main' versions I have in mind. There might be some other
versions in between.
This is some scheme between milestone scheme that Ubuntu is using and
other version numbering scheme that any software could be using in general.
I guess it would be also easier for everyone to follow up.
The best part: we have no stress (AKA release schedule).
You guys have NO idea how hard that could be sometimes. I should know
because I'm the release manager of Ubuntu GNOME for 3 previous cycles
and looking at the 4th this cycle (Vivid Vervet).
Hope this email makes some sense :)
Thank you!
