Re: custom tarballs

Hi Israel and Jack,

I'm testing right now with my own version of the OBI for precise ... I
hope we can find the problem. I think the problem is that when the
OBI-installer is installed into a new system, it does not work properly
concerning permissions etc when using chroot.

My own version of the OBI for precise does not use chroot (at least not
for the same kind of things as in ToriOS).

- Tarball created with ToriOS (current beta, May24)

- Installed with my own version of the OBI for precise

The same problem occurred with non-working nm-applet and shutdown menu.
This makes me wonder if the problem is with the installed ToriOS systems
- that they have some strange settings, which are not reproduced via the
tarballs (lost either during saving or restoring).

I'll continue testing ... I'll create a tarball with my own version of
the OBI for precise. I think zmktbl in ToriOS and mktbl in my own
version of the OBI for precise do the same thing, but who knows.

Best regards
Nio
