Message #00307
Yet again, ToriOS 1.0 Milestones
Hi everyone,
Looking at this table:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VividVervet/ReleaseSchedule
You will notice these milestones:
1. Alpha 1
2. Alpha 2
3. Beta 1
4. Beta 2
5. RC (Release Candidate)
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReleaseCandidate
From my humble personal opinion, from my understanding after spending 5
years with Ubuntu (and flavors) testing, I think (and I could be wrong)
that RC = Release Candidate = is the final milestone for the release
cycle when the software/system is 99%-100% ready to be released and all
what is needed to be done is 'final' testing.
That said, calling the latest build a Release Candidate (RC) is a bad
move, IMHO.

While I admit I have very limited time to spare for anything beside Real
Life, ToriOS is a child that I care about a lot so if none of you have
any objection, may I please be in charge of the release and the
milestone, etc? all what is required is: I test the latest build and
then discuss with Israel whether to call it a milestone (Alpha, Beta,
RC) or just a daily build?
I am sure I have explained that before but I hope you don't mind and you
may consider this as a gentle reminder :)
If you doubt my QA skills, I can prove you wrong :P hehe just kidding :D
Let me know what do you think? what I am asking here is very very simple
and less confusing to everyone!
Thank you!
