Re: Testing Live: RE: The latest ISO

Hi Israel,

Is there something new to test yet for Jack and me?

Best regards
Nio

Hi Nio, Jack!
234 should have a really nice 'Check and (repair) the filesystem'
This uses select-part2 to pick ANY partition to check
I have wanted to do this for a while, so it was a great time to fix it.

@Nio I will try to test it, but I think this will be after release testing.

If this current version works well enough (which it should) I think we
should green light the RC
And then get Ali to release it!

I can work on fixing jwm-settings-manager in an update.
dltbl can be fixed in a point release.

The only thing we should hold the release for is something major at this
point.

Good, I hope the un mounting works well in all cases. I did try to go
through and kill the dbus processes running before syncing etc... So,
hopefully this is the final push.

Thanks so much guys for all your testing work!!! Invaluable!!

Hi Israel,

Things are moving forward :-)

1. I think we should check if tarballs for Trusty work for Debian. It
is less likely that tarballs for Precise work, but it is definitely
worth trying. Try manually (before fixing dltbl)!

Maybe in the future, the whole grub can be reinstalled, in order to
make 'all versions' of OBI tarballs work with your OBI-installer.

2. The changes for unmounting the target seem good.

Best regards
Nio

Hi Jack thanks for noticing this!!
I changed things to work in 232
I also check a few more items.
dltbl doesn't work for Debian yet, because there is nothing to download,
though I may simply change things to list all available tarballs, since
that would make more sense
@Nio, what do you think about listing tarballs of all types, rather than
the code you have to check for individual versions of OS in dltbl

the 'Check and (repair) the filesystem' option didn't work either.

mostly the problem was list_drives was no longer a sourced function. I
have found and fixed this in all the files.

I wrote a script to find things in all files in a directory, which makes
things nicer for me.

I also moved the sync and unmounting into grub-installer. This will
also log lsof +d /mnt and fuser /mnt if the unmount fails.

Hi Israel,

Latest zsync Live Session, the obi-installer option 'h' , when
clicked, does nothing other than redisplay the Starter menu window.

Cheers,
