Re: Non PAE kernel in obi_ToriOS-a2-9w.iso

Hi,

I have made and uploaded an OBI-9w installer of ToriOS with Phill's
non-pae kernel. It is located in my Google Drive at

https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B46yhFQuJvfPZzZ6aThReldScWs

with the following md5sum

5cc4d4e8edf2e63cf0056e635bc678ad obi_ToriOS-a2-9w.iso

It is a hybrid iso file, that can be used from CD/DVD as well as cloned
from USB.

This version is still waiting 2 minutes for network configuration, but
wired network works out of the box.

News (compared to obi_ToriOS-a1-9w.iso)

- Better menu

- Grey background when automatically logged in to live session

- Midori works when started from xterm

The improvements above were done by Jörn
---------------------------------------------
The improvements below were done by me (Nio)

- Test with OEM, but increases the size of the tarballby 140 MB
(343 --> 483) MB. This is too much, the iso file is near the limit of
CD size, 700 MB, but it works, I have tested it with a CD.

- user: OEM
- password: 123456

- Small tweaks to the OBI menu to make it focus first on the OBI level,
and next on installation (thanks smile4ever).

Please test it and give feed-back to Jörn, Phill, Ali, the ToriOS
community and me :-)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Israel is doing a great job developing the desktop environment, but
his version was not ready for iso-testing when I started making this
iso file. We are eagerly looking forward to Israel's version.

Best regards
Nio

of the FIFA world cup). Additionally, I'm working on my own Ubuntu

OK Jörn,

I will make an OBI-9w version of ToriOS with the current non-pae kernel.
It may take a few days, but definitely much less than 4 weeks.

Hi Phill,

This is great news. I can install it in an installed system and make a
tarball and check that it works as it should. But I think Mélodie and
Jörn are better testers of the ability to support LiveCD mode (to make
such systems).

Best regards
