Hi
The Raspberry Pi is based on the Broadcom BCM2835 system on a chip
(SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor,
I think you compile for a specific arm processor,
There is also a debian ARM toolkit now available
http://www.dcglug.org.uk/arm-ds-development-tools-debian-edition/
Raspberry Pi port sounds good, esp as the pi has both 256 and 512 mb
ram versions.
