  Unity on netbooks is unusable

Bug description:
  Hi everyone

  First of all I love Ubuntu! BUT I've got a major issue with Unity on
  my netbook (I understood Unity had been developed for netbooks ...
  precisely, wasn't it??!)

  Well, here is the problem

  I click on the Dash
  1- I don't see the lens at the bottom part (tanks to the forums I realized it existed!), so I cannot make any selection
  2-actually I see at the bottom of the screen a little triangle arrow, but a click on it is no effect
  3-on the right part of the screen, I don't see the various types, so, again, I cannot make any selection

  I've been told about slingshot which is quite adapted to the 10" netbooks
  1-there is a menu at the top which makes the selections easier, whatever the screen size
  2- at the bottom of the screen (VISIBLE and not out of the picture) we can select the pages. Very easy to use
  BUT someone told me it was an elementary project, in gtk2. The version in gtk3 is under development, so sad!!

  MY conclusion:
  In my opinion, you cannot release this version IF you don't provide
  1- an acceptable way of managing the applis on netbooks with Unity
  2- or provide an alternative solution with Gnome Classic, as in 10.04 and which I use presently with a menu on the top, very useful, time saving!!

  My objective is not to criticize but to warn you, as a loyal user of
  Ubuntu for years, of the problems I meet on "the field"
