Title:
Unity shell incorrectly recognizes freshly added .desktop entry until
session restarted
Status in BAMF Application Matching Framework:
Fix Released
Status in Unity:
Fix Released
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
I have a Java app which has an ability to create a desktop entry for
itself (by crafting a .desktop file and invoking xdg-desktop-menu).
This freshly added entry is available in and can be launched from the
menu, but its window seem to be not identified as related to the app -
i.e. when hovering over an icon in a Unity launcher it shows empty
application name.
After session restart everything is ok - the name is shown correctly
(as it's set in the .desktop file), and the app can be successfully
pinned to the launcher.
The behavior is same for user and system modes (in terms of xdg-
desktop-menu).
Can attach a sample app if needed.
