[Bug 1361319] [NEW] Support for enter UEFI firmware stup utility using shutdown
Public bug reported:
July 2012 UEFI Specification 2.3.1C adds: An OS Indications Variable
(OSIndications) - OS/FW feature & capability communication – when
implemented, allows end-users to make an OS menu request to enter
firmware/BIOS setup after next reboot.
This feature is already available in the Windows GUI. It would also
benefit Ubuntu command line users too when booting using an EFI stub
directly into the kernel (efistub boot) and with Ultra Fast Boot
enabled. With Ultra Fast Boot there is no keyboard available during POST
to enter firmware setup. Note: such machines are booting without grub.
There might be an option to do this using selected Boot0000 option and
the efibootmgr command, however some firmware has no "Setup" option
listed in any of the efibootmgr boot menu entries.
Expected: $ shutdown --firmware (to enter firmware on next boot)
A patch for shutdown has already been written by Red Hat/Peter Jones:

<http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.sysutils.systemd.devel/8109>
** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
