[Bug 1540522] Re: vfat support broken in initramfs

 

initramfs-tools at 0.122ubuntu3  is in xenial-proposed now, and should have this fix.
it will migrate to -updates when the tests pass

Then, we need maas images with that inside.

Bug description:
  when it try to mount the fat32 for the efi it failed with the
  following error : [  117.627721] FAT-fs (sda1): IO charset iso8859-1
  not found

  
  which is due to the missing module : nls_iso8859_1

  workaround is : to apt-get install linux-generic
  than the module is properly loaded.

  here's the error that I've seen in the boot.log : 
   can't create directory '/root/lib/modules': Read-only file system
