[Bug 1364953] [NEW] Win 8.1: Duplicate directories are created during MTP transfer

Public bug reported:

ENVIRONMENT:
krillin ubuntu-rtm/14.09-proposed build 13.
mtp-server 0.0.4+14.10.20140827-0ubuntu1
Windows 8.1

SUMMARY:

During MTP transfer of several music files in different directories, the
top level directories appear to be duplicated. So in Win 8.1 when you
view the MTP device, you can see 2 directories displayed with the same
name.

STEPS:
1) Connect Ubuntu device to Windows 8.1 over USB
2) Copy multiple audio files from Windows to Music folder of Ubuntu device. Directory structure should be artist/album/track.

EXPECTED RESULT:
1) Ubuntu device is recognised as MTP device
2) All files are copied to Ubuntu device successfully

ACTUAL RESULT:
The highest level directory that has been copied will appear to be duplicated. So when viewing the MTP device from Win8.1 there will be 2 folders with the same name.

If the Ubuntu device is ejected and re-inserted then the duplicated
directories will not be displayed.

** Affects: mtp (Ubuntu)
     Importance: High
         Status: New
