I am on regular Ubuntu 14.10 updated from 14.04

Switching between active sessions/accounts worked well for 14.04 but now
when I switch either by clicking on different account name at the top
right menu or by simply pressing ctrl+alt f1-f12 it gives a 3 second
black screen before switching, and sometimes it just freezes in this
black screen with no switching at all and I have to restart...

P.S.
in this freeze num lock/caps lock indicators do not react upon pressing, but alt+prtscr+b reboots well
