[Bug 1386415] [NEW] ubuntu 14.04 booting into tty1 - stuck there

Public bug reported:

When booting into rescue mode, everything works excellent. If I try to boot into "normal" ubuntu, I am stuck in tty1. Nothing works here, and I have to make a brutal restart of the PC.
I have of course tryed all combinations like ctrl+alt+Fx etc. No way to eacape except for the brutal restart.
So far I have not found any usefull tricks on the web, and by now I think i have tried everything.
What happened to the kernel or the upstart procedure from 13.10 to 14.04?
As far as I can se, I am not alone with this problem.
Regards Erling
