Message #43182
[Bug 1403150] [NEW] Cannot run gvncviewer due to "Couldn't connect to accessibility bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-*" error
Public bug reported:
Today (December 16, 2014) I tried to run gvncviewer to connect to
sharcnet, a supercomputing cluster for Canadian academics. This has
worked perfectly in the past on the same computer as recently as
December 13, 2014. I have no idea what has changed but this seems to be
a serious dbus bug.
I am running Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (Xubuntu), 64-bit.
dbus version is 1.6.18-0ubuntu4.3.
Specifically, the error i get is:
$ gvncviewer viz10-uwo.user.sharcnet.ca
** (gvncviewer:4486): WARNING **: Couldn't connect to accessibility bus:
Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-O4Qcv1n7aT: Connection refused
and the program immediately quits back to the command line.
