[Bug 1412544] [NEW] After using some keyboard keys cursor disappears in some apps

Public bug reported:

Test case 1:
With "Keyboard input method system" set to default of iBus
Open a text file in gedit
Highlight some text > go ctrl+c
Cursor (The I bar) will start flashing, disappearing while in gedit window

Removing focus from & back to gedit window will restore proper behavior.
If ibus-gtk is installed this behavior does not occur
Or if "Keyboard input method system" is set to 'None" this issue won't occur
(- both 'if's require a log out to effect.

Other apps are also affected in similar manner - see this report
