Message #64533
[Bug 1435765] [NEW] focused gtk tab looks same as unfocused
Public bug reported:
Open two or more tabs in gnome-terminal. Click on one of the tab labels
to give it the Gtk+ focus.
Notice that typing letters don't send it to the terminal whereas
left/right arrows move to the prev/next tab. This is to confirm that
it's indeed the tab label, and not the actual terminal area that has the
focus.
This is a quite bad scenario, as you might have absolutely no clue
what's going on and why you can't type to the terminal.
In Utopic, the focused tab label had a different (orange-ish) look, so
it gave you a visual clue about what was happening. This is gone from
Vivid, making it much harder to see what the problem is. I guess
there'll be several bugreports along the lines of "suddenly I can't type
into the terminal anymore" with no reasonable explanation.
Could you please restore Utopic's behavior, so that a visual feedback is
given if a tab label has the Gtk+ focus?
I'm using the default Unity desktop with its default Ambiance theme,
everything's the default as shipped by Ubuntu, except for gnome-terminal
which I'm a developer of, so I use git master (and used to use that on
Utopic too). So I'm absolutely sure that it was not gnome-terminal that
changed. Probably either Gtk+ itself or the Ambiance theme is the
culprit. And probably more apps are affected, not just the terminal.
