Public bug reported:

After xubuntu standard update it failed with a libqtcore4 error
tried terminal  sudo apt-get install -f
got another error

in synaptic Package Manager did a update

 I got this error :

(synaptic:3987): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_child_watch_add_full: assertion 'pid > 0' failed

A package failed to install.  Trying to recover:

system still trying to update it seems like it installs the correct
Package I think it's to do with the removal of the old that the problem
comes in
