This is gone since 15.04 (r24).  
I guess I am on  the ubuntu-touch/stable/bq-aquaris.en channel, 
but I can't verify that.

  ubuntu touch: display darkens but is never switched off

Bug description:
  On A aquaris bq: When I don't switch off  the display by pressing the  power switch, the display darkens after some moments, but it never gets switched off completely. Is this as designed or is this a bug?
  (All software up to date at that moment)
