Team Actvities

Hi U+1 Members,

I though it would be nice to give you all some explanations and status. I'll try to do that regularly (but not too much, to keep the Mailing List low traffic).

- We're still working on our organization, our very basic infrastructure and processes. It's more complicated than I though initially, I must say. Our plan is still the same: Work as much as possible now, so we're ready for the QQ cycle.

- No changes that may affect us have been done to the QA structure so far. This is being handled with extreme professionalism by *Guitara* and everyone will be informed if and when anything changes.

- You may have noticed that you are now listed as members of the "*Etherpad Instance*" Team on your Launchpad accounts and found it weird. That happened because I have associated our team to the "Etherpad Instance" one. As a consequence, our members now can login to Etherpad. This may happen again if we detect that access of our members to some resource or tool can be simplified by using this procedure.

- The IRC channel at *#U+1* in Freenode is up and you can use it normally. It will continue to be usable despite the changes to be coordinated by*Kaldor* (thank you again for stepping up for the role) . What we are currently checking is if we will be able to use this channel for meetings / events (and so have access to IRC-related infrastructure, such as logging bots) or not.

- The "*Testers-Wiki*" page was started some days ago by *Ventrical* and *Grahammechanical* has joined the efforts on this front. (Thank you both for your contributions!). If you have 20 minutes an an idea, please join them and contribute to it.

- *Cariboo907* has started working on the "*Tester-FAQ*" in the Wiki at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/U+1/tester-faq (thank you again Cariboo907!). Everyone knows a trick or two, so please feel free to add to that.

- I have added an "*ideas*" section at the WIki at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/U+1/ideas and outlined some thoughts there. Please feel free to do the same.

Let me remind everyone that our goal is to be different from some other teams in which things are sometimes too complicated. Everyone is free to have ideas, present them at the Forums, at the Mailing List, at the Wiki, implement them alone or in groups, ask for help, work in their own rhythm, etc. So if you have anything in mind, please let everybody know, let's discuss it and try to make it happen.

Regards,
Effenberg
