Re: test

Thanks Nio,

As you already know I am trying to encourage support to test unity7.

  1. I had some problems sending mail through the mailing list. All seems well now.
  2. I have created a team to maintain some aspects of the unity7 desktop. As you know unity7 can now be downloaded and installed (unity-session) alongside GNOME in 17.10 cycle. There will be a point where unity7 may be handed off during the 18.04 cycle to maintainers in the community. This would free up Canonical development resource to focus more squarely on GNOME as being fit for release as default for the 18.04 cycle. As we test corner cases of GNOME at ubuntuforums then there is a trade off as devs seems willing to help with keeping unity7 in the universe during 18.04. I don't have a crystal ball but I am hopeful that unity7 will be available in the universe. You are invited (as are all at ubuntuforums) to join the maintainers team.

       Regards..

The testing and work done here will ultimately decide if unity7 will be in the universe during the 18.04 cycle or there abouts. It is preferred that members have previously singed the CoC but is not absolute prerequisite. Volunteer work @ ...
