Dear Active U+1 members.

Many of you know by now that the unity8 project has been discontinued
and that unity7 desktop is in development for 17.10 cycle but may not be
in 18.04 development cycle. Main reason is that the focus of Ubuntu is
now on GNOME as default. However there may be a chance that 18.04 will
be in the universe  if a community team can contribute some time to
maintaining some of the packages. I had corresponded with Mark
Shuttleworth and Will Cooke adn they are willing to help as much as they
can.

  I need persons  that have some knowledge in maintaining packages in
launchpad etc..  If you are willing to assist in this venture then
please e-mail me and I can provide further details. I have also created
a team and invite our U+1 team members to join.

The continuance of Unity7 in the universe will depend upon community
involvment.
