It is easy to forget that however good GNU/Linux systems are, they are 
not currently being installed  oem in any useful quantity.

Imagine:
If the tables were reversed, and people had been using only GNU/Linux 
systems for 15 years, and Windows now came along, it would attract a 
small following, but it would not make any breakthrough without the 
type of marketing deal with oems and retail outlets which we are 
familiar with..... AND advertising of course.
