Jason’s Farewell Notice


Ladies and Gentlemen;

We would like to inform you that Jason Odoom, this team’s founder, is no
longer a member of the team for various reasons, including creative
differences. For example, we do not feel he has the experience (being only
15 years old) to lead an advertising team representing what is, in effect, a
multi-billion dollar engineering project (ie: the Linux and Ubuntu
ecosystems).

We are not prejudiced against any members of the team, but we ask that each
member be aware of their own limitations; Jason was not aware of his and
continued to participate in a manner unbefitting of someone who has signed
the Code of Conduct. He was often regarded as rude by other members of the
team--especially leadership--and some statements were said with scorn and
hatred laced through them; he demoralized some members of the team and saw
himself as a ‘leader’ and ‘technology expert’ when really, he was just a
novice who mistook high ambition for skill.

We must stress that whilst we agreed with Jason’s idea, we simply do not
believe he had the experience, nor maturity, to take on all the trust and
responsibility that this project requires. However, this does not mean we
cannot fulfil his excellent vision of a professional-level advertising team.
This team has great potential and many wonderful members who will be able to
achieve more than was initially thought up.

We will continue to operate as normal; our current leadership team is as
strong as ever and we are excited to propel this project into 2011 with some
great ideas. Look forward to increased communication and organization along
with some solid plans in the coming months. As always, if you would have
anything to discuss, you can do so on the mailing list or in our IRC channel
(#ubuntu-adverts).
