Great news everybody! Our first campaign will start on October 1st at thisisthecountdown.com (http://thisisthecountdown.com). It's called "A whole new world. A whole new computer."

This is a very busy two week campaign that will consist of multiple stages leading up to the release date of Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. The campaign consists of both online and offline components, so everyone can participate. The team is ready to execute the online campaign, but we need people to spread the word. When the site launches on October 1st, start telling your friends & family and begin sending journalists and bloggers emails about thisisthecountdown.com (http://thisisthecountdown.com). No newspaper or blog is too small! You'll be amazed how much journalists & bloggers will appreciate the news tip!

We also need people help out with the offline campaign immediately. We need as many people as possible to print out the flyer attached to this email and post them everywhere. Remember, don't just put the flyers in the computer science building, get the posters in the liberal arts building, the museum, community center, telephone poles, basically anywhere where flyers tend to congregate. :) When the the campaign website starts up, we will also have a download link for the flyers. We just need a jumpstart in the flyer campaign beforehand.

I'd like to say thank you to the numerous people who have volunteered for the campaign so far, and another thank you to everyone who spreads the word that the Countdown Has Begun (http://thisisthecountdown.com/)!
