[Messaging app] No way to search for contacts

Bug description:
I have imported my contacts from google and they show up in the contacts.
I want to send an SMS to my wife, so I opened the Messaging app and started typing her name in the first field, but it didn't give me any indication that it found her, or that I even have someone by that name, or could choose her phone number.
I would expect to be able to type either a phone number or a name in
that field and find someone from my contacts.
