confirming the broken behavior
clicking and dragging with the mouse works, but just swiping does not work correctly to navigate the photos. It should behave exactly as it does on the phone. Swiping from right to left should navigate forward. Swiping from left to right should navigate backwards.

  [desktop] Swipe to navigate through photos does not work correctly
  using a touchpad

Bug description:
  I am testing gallery-app in trusty using an Apple Magic Touchpad.

  1) open the app using DESKTOP_MODE=1
  2) Go to the first picture
  3) Swipe from right to left to go to the next picture. Result: Nothing happens
  4) Swipe from left to right just in case. Result: nothing happens
  5) Go to the 2nd picture using clicking with the mouse
  6) On the 2nd picture swipe from right to left to go to the next picture. Result: it navigates to the previous picture instead (counter intuitive)
