Re: Thanks guys!

Hello,

maybe we can have the discussion in a generalised fashion on the list?

  ubuntu-appstore-developers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Or maybe on a bug report?

Have a great day,
 Daniel

Yes, scalability is an important concern ;-)

I would be *super* happy if reviews of old releases could be hidden
behind some kind of click-through link. Eg, the store should only
display reviews of the current version, and then at the end of the
reviews have a link saying 'Click here to see reviews of older
versions.' and then you click it and see the bad reviews.

That way app developers are given a second chance when they upload new
releases... Right now it looks really bad for my app! I might have to
delete the whole thing and upload the app anew just to get away from
these bad reviews.

Hello,

I don't think that manually removing comments or contacting those users is
going to scale. We need a clever algorithm to figure out votes/comments
based on time and new releases.

Have a great day,

Well no, definitely don't want to give unscrupulus app authors total
control to just delete all unfavorable reviews, but in this case the
issue is resolved so the unfavorable reviews are a bit unfair for
me... users will see "1 star doesn't work" and won't bother to install
it, when it's working fine now. So maybe we can contact those users
and ask them to try the new version or something, and re-review. Not
sure how best to proceed.

Sounds like a bug for Martin. I don't think we want to set a precedent
of deleting unfavourable reviews, but that's his domain.

Bah, this has been such a process, getting Soonsnap working and
accepted in the store, thank you both so much for all the reviews and
hassle ;-)

One last question... there's two 1-star reviews in the store,
complaining about the app being broken. Can we remove those now that
it's fixed? Not very fair to scare users away from a working app with
reviews claiming that it's broken.

At the very least we should follow Google Play here and say "this
review is for a previous version"

Thanks!
