TRRS Headset mic issue help

Hi all. Im having an issue with the Macbook Pro TRRS combo port not
recognising the microphone (speakers works) and I'm wondering if anyone
here has time to guide me a bit with trying to fix this issue.

I filed a bug report earlier:

And i have found another report with the same problem on the same chipset

I have installed the latest ALSA from:
oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms_0.201503111631~ubuntu14.10.1_all.deb

So where do I go from here? Any more info I can add?
