How you installed is neither here nor there.  You can use the server
iso and install the desktop just fine, or install the desktop cd then
add all of the server packages, and even remove the desktop ones.  You
can use the mini iso and mix and match however you like.  You can
manually debootstrap and bring the system up piece by piece.  It is
all the same OS.  The only difference is that some packages are marked
as 5 year support and some are not.

It should be pretty clear to you at this point that it is not clear
cut at all.  The lines are blurred because we are dealing with a
release that is *partially* still supported, and bugs that straddle
the line between supported and not.  The bug meets the conditions for
*both* wontfix, *and* dup.  Given that, preference should be given to
dup since wontfix is a last resort.
