or alternatively rmadison (from devscripts):

sdformat | 2.0.0-5 | utopic-proposed/universe | source
Thanks for the info.
Please check if the following is true:
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/One%20Hundred%20Papercuts/Work-flow/Triage/Fixable/rmadison>
It's almost true. In point 3, this part is not true "If the installed
package has been provided by a third party, it will usually have a
higher version than the one told by rmadison."
Nothing forbids to have an installed version from a third party
repository with a lower version than a package from an official
repository. A more reliable way to determine the origin of a package is
to use "apt-cache policy" like for example:
⟫ apt-cache policy firefox-lp-improvements
firefox-lp-improvements:
Installed: 0.99.93-0ubuntu1~ppa1
Candidate: 0.99.93-0ubuntu1~ppa1
Version table:
*** 0.99.93-0ubuntu1~ppa1 0
500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/gm-dev-launchpad/ppa/ubuntu/
raring/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
For reference, there are also online versions of madison:
https://qa.debian.org/madison.php
http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/madison.cgi
