Hi,

Don't know about others, but I find (on Maverick and Natty)  that after 
installing the toolchain, man <something> doesn't work, even though man-db is 
installed.

The fix is to reinstall man-db:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall man-db

At least that works for me.
