[Bug 244059] Re: Sound volume cannot be adjusted

I can adjust volume on a 1000, but there are 2 OSD's for level. Also,
there is a strange interaction between the two.

Muting is fine, If you then increase the volume, it is unmuted and the
level increased.

If you mute and then reduce the volume the 'blue OSD' (upper left) shows
unmuted, the 'gnome volume' display (orange colour, centered) remains
muted. Repeated presses of 'mute' togggle the state between the orange
and blue OSD's - only a volume increase causes both to go unmuted.

Status in Ubuntu Eee: Confirmed

Bug description:
I cannot change the volume for the sound on the eee using Ubuntu. Neither the keys nor the mixer in Ubuntu do the trick. This is quite bad because of the startup sound that is played at quite a hihgh volume.
