[Bug 261137] Re: Eee 1000 - Bluetooth not Setup

Hm. Well apt-cache pkgnames | grep bluetooth gives two results:

gnome-bluetooth
libbluetooth2

But then

:~$ gnome-bluetooth
bash: gnome-bluetooth: command not found

I hadn't modified my sources.list file after install (until now,
anyway.) Nor had I disabled any repositories. Could have been using an
out-of-sync mirror, though I used the torrent linked at Jon's site.

Still, there *were* some differences in the sources.list file. I added
in the bottom three that appeared in yours (netbook remix skin add-on,
Ubuntu eee, and Flash 10), the comments in the attached file make that
clear. I ran apt-get install again after this, and got the same result.

Your sources.list file, however, had 14 lines that were commented out
that were not commented out in mine. Next I tried editing my
sources.list file to match yours exactly (file not attached; I just
copy/pasted yours), and yet again apt-get install gave me the same
results. I don't understand why you commented out so many deb-source
entries yet left the deb file intact.

Jon you said "the debs are called bluez-*". I'm pretty rusty, having been sans computer for a few months, so please bear with me. I assume you mean that I need to install all packages called bluez-something, right?

So I'm trying to find a trusted source for bluez-* debs, and can't. I
found the source bluez-gnome-1.1-tar.gz file, but before I build this
from source I want to make sure that's what I should be doing here.

I found the bluez-gnome source files here: http://www.bluez.org/download/
...which claims here (http://www.bluez.org/download/packages/) that debian packages can be found here: http://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-bluetooth/

...but that sourceforge profile has no debs (and 0% activity.) And there
is no other sourceforge entry for bluez. What's a trusted source for
these debs?
