[Question #43854]: Not sure if codecs are built in

New question #43854 on Ubuntu Eee:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/43854

The built-in media player (Rhythmbox) and the FF plugin for mp3s, divx videos, etc. do not seem to be supporting those formats. I allow the software to look for the repos needed that contain the codecs, but it fails:

Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Any ideas?
