[Bug 264978] Re: Using headphone does not mute main speakers
I get exactly the same on my Eee1000, using Ubuntu 8.4.1 RC2.
If I plug the headphones in, then the speakers still work (even though
the headphones switch is ticked).
If I open the Volume Control and select the mute button under the Front
volume slider, then the speakers are muted, but I still get sound via
the headphones. If I unmute by pressing the button again, the speakers
and headphones both have sound.
If I use the Fn+F10 keys to mute, it kills the speakers and the
headphones. Unmuting with Fn+F10 only brings back the speakers.
The sound is very good quality though!!

Status in Ubuntu Eee: New
Bug description:
The headphone output works properly now with the newest array.org - kernel from adam, but "normal operation" would be that when a headphone is plugged in the jack socket, the internal speakers would mute.
However, this is not the case. Tested on 8.04.1 RC 2
