I have the same problem on 701 4g after lock screen.
it seem to work greatfully after

SOLUTION:
 sudo chown root:shadow /sbin/unix_chkpwd
 sudo chmod 2755 /sbin/unix_chkpwd

Bug description:
When ever i close the lid on my eee 701 4g it goes to suspend but when i press the power button i'm asked to enter a password. I know i enter the correct one but i get wrong password everytime. I'm also using NBE 8.04.1
