[Bug 261141] Re: Eee 1000 - Disabling Wireless Crashes System

I think I got it solved on my 901!

I had the same problem, fn-f2 crashed the machine and I needed to
hardboot.

What I did:

1. change to root user
sudo bash

2.
cd /etc/acpi/

3. remove/backup originals
 mv eeepc-wireless-toggle.sh /home/[my username]/.
  mv eee-wifi-on-off.sh /home/[my username]/.

4.
gedit eeepc-wireless-toggle.sh

5. pasted contents of Christopher script(eeepc-wireless-toggle.sh)
which can be found above.

6. save and quit.

7. log out as root
exit

having both scripts did not work, I could turn wifi off, but not on, the wifi light turned on for 1 sec then off again.

Only using eee-wifi-on-off.sh caused the machine to crash.

Now everything but toggle blue tooth works like a charm!

I would like to thank Christopher and everbody else at ubuntu-eee for all the hard work!
Great work!

I hope this can help any body else with the 901, or with the debugging
process.
