I tried the instructions at http://www.ubuntu-
eee.com/wiki/index.php5?title=Fix:_hibernate and now absolutely nothing
happens when I click on Quit...

I'm really screwed as I have to kill the power every time to shut down.

What can I do?

Bug description:
Choosing Quit... > Hibernate does not work.
The screen goes blank, then a couple of lines of text appear, but too quickly to read, then the desktop restarts again.
A dialog box asking to unlock the keyring for "mm-applet" appears.

Versions:
Asus eee 1000, 40GB SSD (originally xandros)
ubuntu-eee 8.10.1 with all updates applied
