Re: [Question #49401]: Wifi not working after upgrade
Question #49401 on Ubuntu Eee changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/49401
Ursus88 posted a new comment:
Okay ... first, I attempted to install the Adam McDaniels kernel only to
find (I think) that it's the same as what was on there to begin with.
There were three kernel options:
* 2.6.24-21-eeepc
* 2.6.24-21-eeepc (recovery mode)
* memtest86+
Having not seen what was there before, I can only assume that the
recovery mode kernel is the original and the other, identical kernel is
what I installed. I assume the memtest is inconsequential.
At any rate, I installed the [non-recovery mode] kernel and nothing
changed. I decided to provide you with the dmesg output and to check
out the logs as Christopher suggested to see if I noticed much of
anything (I can't say that I recognized anything in the logs ... I'm not
sure that I would). I will say, however, that when I toggle wireless
OFF, the PC seems to lock up and won't recover unless I force a shut
down and reboot. Not sure if that's significant, so I thought I'd
mention it. It seems to toggle ON fine ... it just locks up when I
toggle it OFF.
The last chunk of my dmesg is as follows:
