Are you using ubuntu eee or regular ubuntu? Ubuntu eee doesn't yet have
a release for 8.10. Adamms kernel? what are your audio - settings? is
media player using the same output as gnome is? do you get sound under
sound properties?

Bug description:
Well, the header says it all. There is no  sound at all on Asus Eee pc 900 and ubuntu 8.10. Mediaplayers work fine, dvds play beautifully but no sound. Volume control is on.
