[Bug 313747] [NEW] cpu frequency scaling not working on 701 surf after upgrade to 8.10
Public bug reported:
After upgrade from ubuntu eee 8.01.1 to easy peasy 8.10 I see message
that "CPU Frequency Scaling is not supported". apt-get installing
cpufreqd and cpufrequtils allows gnome applet to monitor the freq but
its locked at "perfomance". Manualy loading p4_clockmod (modprobe
p4_clockmod) allows proper operation, BUT adding p4_clockmod to
/etc/modules and rebooting does NOT allow gnome applet to change speeds.
In other words, p4_clockmod only works if loaded manualy.
** Affects: ubuntu-eee
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
