Actually, I wasn't asking for help but thanks.

I was trying to state that these newer releases of madwifi builds are problematic.  It spans several if not all distributions.
I seriouly haven't had much luck in any since Kernel 2.6.24.xxx.  I believe it to be the changes in the Kerenel.

So what that guy may want to end up doing is grabing the debian patched
0.9.4 Madwifi sources.

My appologies, I just now noticed you guys are running a remix version.
For a moment I was all like, what is easy peasy...

Bug description:
I tried 8.04.1. Found a number of problems which forced me back to 8.04.

1) Flaky wireless connection. Sometimes it would connect, sometimes not. Always connected before.
2) Shutdown unreliable from remix. Had to go to a terminal and do a sudo shutdown.
3) Documents didn't display from the file manager. I click on a text doc, hit Display, and nothing happens.
4) Connection via Nokia phone possible but seemed slower than with 8.04.

I do like Remix, the faster boot, and more disk space, but without wireless it was a no-go for the moment
